The existent investigations regarding housing whether it is national or international express how they have come about, evolutionized and sustained the different alternatives of housing and have established the similarities or differences that are present in each city and/or country of Latin America. It is an investigation documented and focused on the area of construction of houses of social interest, in which the revision bibliography description was taken into account like: formal production of housing, public growth, levels of poverty, massive housing production, social space, inadequate use of social interest housing, among others in the present study. It is possible to identify a strong dynamic in Latin America regarding the construction of housing models of social interest in the study and the different roles that intervene, like the interest of government institutions, the answer from the state, the needs and characteristics of the people. The social interest housing, it is an alternative not only for citizens and low income sectors. If not also for the government. Given the emergence, evolution and consolidation the interests of all must be respected. Nevertheless the well-being of the population prevails, have control over each process avoiding overcrowding, the lack of public space, education, and finally, analyze the conditions of the population to which this type of project is directed where the beneficiaries really need it.
