As a fundamental part in the human resources area of an organization, employee retention stands out as the way to avoid the possible inconveniences caused by the employee turnover, such as the high costs related to the training of new personnel, the reduction of labor production or the negative profit margin. The main objective of this research is to analyze the causes that influence the high employee turnover that occurs in the company Transportes Saferbo SA located at Calle 19 N ° 1 W - 12 La Badea, in the municipality of Dosquebradas, Risaralda, with the objective of elaborating an action plan that allows the company to benefit at the moment of facing this phenomenon. The analysis is based on the information provided by the company, and the collected data after the implementation of a survey applied to the employees. This survey works as a basis for the execution of a descriptive quantitative study. The results reflect that the salary, the relationship between boss and subordinate, and the low degree of job training are the main causes that affect the high employee turnover. The aforementioned factors become into the essential points to be taken into account by the organization in the decision making when facing the impact of this issue.
